MyHomeGroup Announces Partnership with the Home Staging Association

MyHomeGroup, owner of SellMyHome.co.uk and RentMyHome.co.uk today announces the launch of a partnership with the Home Staging Association which will provide its clients with discounted Home Staging services as an option in each of its sales packages.

Home Staging is a growing industry that brings together many different areas of expertise and professionals such as estate agents, developers, interior designers, architects, retail professionals and more.  The Home Staging Association is a professional body and directory of qualified home stagers around the country.

SellMyHome.co.uk and RentMyHome.co.uk customers will have access to an exclusive discounted rate ofor a Home Staging consultation.

Will Clark, Managing Director at MyHomeGroup, commented on the partnership: “We are always looking at ways we can enhance the services we offer our customers - from professional photography to local discounts and now access to qualified, professional home stagers.  For an exclusive discounted rate, our customers will be able to have a private consultation with a local home stager who will provide advice on tips on how to enhance their property even further to help it sell more quickly and potentially at a higher price.”

Paloma Harrington-Griffin, Director at the Home Staging Association, commented: “We are delighted that MyHomeGroup has recognised the value that home staging can offer its customer base.  Our network of home stagers are brilliantly placed to offer sellers, landlords and developers alike tips to suit their budget on how to give their property an added edge and competitive advantage.

To mark the partnership, MyHomeGroup and the Home Staging Association have combined forces to offer these top tips on selling your property this Spring:

  1. Inspect and Correct: Examine your floors and walls, consider a lick of paint after a colour consultation and make sure to check for creaky floorboards - sounds from a house often have a subconscious impact on buyers.  Creaky floorboards suggest neglect.

  2. De-Personalise: You went to great lengths to put your own personal stamp on your property.  But now that you’re trying to sell, keep in mind that not everyone has the same taste. If you have the opportunity to, consider neutralising so that people viewing the property can more easily envisage their own lives between the four walls rather than not being able to see past yours.

  3. Reflection: Incorporate mirrors - not only do they bring more style to a space but they also make it appear brighter and seem more spacious.

  4. Clean and Neutral: Make your bed look inviting by choosing white or neutral linen, a set of clean pillows, plumped up cushions and a chunky throw will give it a 5-star look. Another suggestion is to get crisp, white towels for the bathrooms for that fresh and clean spa-feeling.

  5. Create Focal Points: Each room should have an area where eyes are naturally drawn to. Think creatively to come up with ways of repurposing objects to take centre stage.

  6. Rearrange Furniture: With living rooms, symmetrical arrangements work really well. Pull your furniture off the walls and rearrange them to create an inviting area.

  7. Bookcase organising: Rearrange your bookcase for some extra character. Remove nearly half of your books and leave some of the remaining ones stacked horizontally, and some in vertical position.

  8. Let There Be Light: Updating lighting fixtures makes a major difference. Ensure you have a good balance between ambient, task and accent lighting to help brighten up a room.

  9. Don’t Forget Outside: Whether your garden is acres long or only a compact balcony, play around and accessorize. Try adding a chic table and chair set with a stunning centerpiece.  Make sure flowers appear fresh and seasonal. There’s nothing worse than looking out the kitchen window to pots full of dead flowers

  10. Ask For Help: Remember, hiring a home staging professional could make all the difference on getting the best offer value!
