A highly regarded training company originally founded by Ann Maurice, UK TV’s original House Doctor®, who first brought the technique of home staging to the UK. House Doctor have been training for over 10 years and, since Ann has now retired, the training and Team at House Doctor are now in the capable and experienced hands of Annie Doherty. Annie is in the process of creating a new website and training platform that will offer a variety of ways and levels in which you can train.
Their trained and certified team of certified property experts, with their various levels of expertise and services, are running successful businesses for themselves both in the UK and abroad.
Training Course Options:
1. Styled to Sell:
Home Staging Basics. Aimed mainly at homeowners, but also works for investors, landlords and estate agents who want a basic idea of home staging but do not need or desire the detailed nitty-gritty.
2. Introductory Home Staging:
This is a much more comprehensive and detailed course aimed at those who want a new career in Home Staging or wish to add home staging/ property presentation as an additional service to their existing business. (Interior Designers for instance).
A room by room approach is taken, assessing the whole property (including the garden plus addressing kerb appeal) and also touch upon clutter, colour, subliminal sensory stimulators, flow, research into the property and demographics, etc.
The material used includes video, audio and an extensive workbook/manual, which is sent out with auxiliary material such as colour wheel, paint chart, fabric samples, etc.
Staging assessments will need to be completed and passed prior to the students gaining a Certificate.
3. The Business of Home Staging:
This course is taken by those who want to become House Doctor Team members and is usually undertaken after the Intro course is completed and assessed. Sometimes the Intro and Biz courses are taken in tandem.
This is the course that everyone wants to shortcut to. It covers the How-to's, tools of the trade, portfolio, resources, trade discounts etc. e.g. How to complete a verbal consultation, how to write a written report etc.
This course is split this into two sections. The online part in which basics are covered, such as starting a company, tax, accounting, tools of the trade, marketing, selling the benefits of your services, extensions to your services and much more.
Once the required modules have been completed the mentees can book and attend the live workshop where Master Consultants will be present. The workshop will cover pricing, budgets, how to complete a verbal consultation and will leave with a portfolio case containing the manual and a flash drive of templates such as sample reports, client letters, budget breakdowns etc. to use.
Included in the cost of this course is 12 months worth of mentoring and access to a private Facebook group where questions can be posted and advice and tips available from the whole Team at House Doctor.
