Next Steps Post Recruitment…

Next Steps Post Recruitment…

Great! You’ve found the perfect candidate for the job, you’ve offered them the position and they’ve accepted…now what do you do?

1. Start by getting an offer letter and employment contract out to them. This is really important as they are unlikely to resign from their current employer until they have at least an offer letter from you.
NOTE – Following new employment legislation introduced in April 2020, all employees now need an employment contract by day 1 of their employment. *If you don’t have one, get in touch and we can help put one together for you.

2. Engage them into your business – you could send them out a “welcome pack” welcoming them to the company, which could include what to expect whilst working for you, company values and other employees that work for the business. If you do this before they start their role with you, it will increase their engagement and excitement to work with you.

3. On day 1 of their employment, induct them into the business by having a structured induction plan ready to work through with them over the next 12 weeks.
NOTE – According to a survey carried out by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) in 2020, 42% of organisations are improving their induction process to enhance retention.
